BURLINGTON VIEWS CARTMEL AS A RACING CERT

Leading British stone engineers and local company, Burlington, is continuing its long association with Cartmel Racecourse, having once again elected to sponsor three key races in their 2011 National Hunt (jump) racing calendar.

A member of Holker Group, Burlington continues to recognise that Cartmel Racecourse meetings represent an ideal opportunity to help increase awareness of the company and promote its constantly expanding portfolio of exquisite interior and exterior products to a captive audience of discerning horse racing lovers.

Indeed new to proceedings this year is Burlington’s portable roadshow. Giving visitors the chance to enjoy more than the thunderous spectacle of racing horses and the thrill of a flutter, it enables them to get up close to stone products that deliver a style of unashamed decadence, luxury and individuality.

At the most recent Barbecue Race Day, first across the winning line in the Burlington race was Champion jockey Tony McCoy who won all three races from three rides on the day. Rumour has it that Tony McCoy opted to compete at Cartmel ahead of attending the ‘Pride of British Racing’ dinner where he was due to pick up an award from the Princess Royal. Burlington were also main sponsors of the Burlington Stone Veterans’ Steeplechase Day over the May Bank Holiday weekend, when race favourite Stagecoach Pearl and jockey, Jason Maguire were first past the winning post.

Next up will be the August Bank Holiday Festival, themed ‘summer atmospherics’, where Burlington will once again be on the race card.

Commenting on Burlington’s continued association with Cartmel Racecourse, Sales & Marketing Director, Nick Williams said: “Of all the local events that Burlington either has supported or continues to support, the race days have to be some of the most enjoyable and rewarding. Not only does it represent national hunt racing in its most original format, the racecourse continues to attract many influential visitors from across the country. As such, Carmel serves as a hospitality venue where we can entertain some of our key customers, whilst promoting what is an unrivalled natural stone product range, shaped from the finest and most durable stone source in the world.”
