Last weekend’s Holker Garden Festival (June 4th – 6th) saw local natural stone engineers, Burlington, win a Large Gold award as they successfully delivered their biggest and most ambitious show garden yet.
Taking inspiration from the versatility of Burlington’s stone in both the internal and external environment – widely apparent at the company’s new and recently opened Stone Studio located in Kirkby-in-Furness – creators Damson Design delivered a garden scheme that echoed the theme of the one created for the studio and which speaks of permanence and movement.

Leading natural stone producer, Cumbria-based Burlington, has opened a Stone Studio to showcase its expanding range of high quality interior and exterior products.
Located at the site of its head office and main production centre in Kirkby-in-Furness, the new facility has been officially opened by Burlington Stone’s owners, Lord and Lady Cavendish, in the presence of daughter Lucy, who has recently been appointed a director of parent group - the Holker Group of companies.

Natural stone from Cumbria-based Burlington has played a pivotal part in the redevelopment of Eden Court – now established as the Highlands’ premier venues for arts and culture.
For the project, which has seen Page/Park architects of Glasgow successfully bring together buildings from three different centuries to create Scotland’s biggest art centre, a number of Burlington’s natural stone products have been specified within the overall interior environment.
