This is a new role, based at the Company’s Head Office at Kirkby-in-Furness Quarry.
You will lead and manage the production operations within budget to meet customer standards. You will ensure that safety, quality, cost and delivery requirements are met, implementing modern manufacturing principles and managing continuous improvement. You will build effective working relationships and develop an enthusiastic, motivated and flexible team.
You will probably be educated to degree level, NVQ level 5 or equivalent, with a manufacturing or engineering background and extensive plant level experience. You will have a strong technical understanding and experience of applying the principles of Lean Manufacturing, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Kaizen and will be Six Sigma Black Belt Qualified. You will have an understanding of IOSH/NEBOSH, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and will be proficient in Microsoft Office. Experience of Enterprise Resource Planning systems would be beneficial, particularly MS NAV. You will have excellent leadership and people-management skills and highly effective interpersonal and communication skills. Focused and target-driven, with a positive can-do attitude, you are a self-starter, an analytical thinker and a confident decision-maker.
