Burlington’s quarries yield five stones with subtly different tones - Elterwater, Bursting Stone, Broughton Moor, Brandy Crag, and Kirkby. The tones vary from pale green to blue grey and are often highlighted by contrasting veins which emphasise the natural origins of the material. In addition, Burlington also extract stone from its new Baycliff Limestone quarry - Caulfeild and Lord - two attractive stones with rich natural markings which reflect its origin as the highly compressed remains of ancient sea creatures.

Our landscaping stone is supplied in 4 colour options - Blue Grey from our Kirkby quarry, Westmorland Green from our Elterwater and Broughton Moor quarries, Baycliff Limestone from our Baycliff quarry and Silver Grey from our Brandy Crag quarry.

Burlington landscaping can bring its character to your scheme in so many different ways, use it as;
  • Walling Stone - with rough irregular faces or sharply cut surfaces, as a background to planting, or to restrain terraces and banking. Walling options are Random, Selected, Screened Weathered, Quoins, Lintols, Cills and Steps.
  • Rockery Stone - contrasting the luxuriant planting with its calmness and character.
  • Paving Stone - to bring a formal grace to landscaping schemes or gardens, a dependable path working its way across the landscape or a calm surround to a placid pond. Paving options are Crazy Paving, Dimensional Paving, Farmhouse Flagstones, Tumblestones and Architectural Offcuts.
  • Feature Stones - an unshaped monolith of raw stone surging from the ground, a stone spike lunging to the sky or a base for a shouting fountain, where water shatters into sparks and bolts, bringing together water, air, stone and light. Feature stones include Standing Stones, Boulders and Drilled Monoliths.
  • Decorative Aggregates - a slate mulch in blue-grey or green to set off plants, limit moisture loss and control weeds. Chose from Mini Mulch, 15-30mm Mulch, 40mm Mulch and Natural Paddlestones.
  • Construction Aggregates - material selected for Footpath Fines, MOT Type 1 Sub-base and 100mm down infil.
