Burlington Stone grabs the headlines

Burlington Stone are honoured to be supplying calibrated Westmorland green roofing slate to the Australian Prime Minister’s official residence.

Local Cumbrian newspaper, North West Evening Mail, has highlighted to their South Lakeland readership, this prestigious project, which Burlington Stone has been involved in.  Over 17,100 Westmorland Green roofing slates have been shipped over to Australia and will be used to tile the roof of The Lodge in Canberra, which is occupied by the current Prime Minister, Julia Gillard.  Both the aesthetic beauty of the 450 million year old stone and the outstanding technical properties of the slate, ensure the continued demand for Westmorland Green roofing slates on landmark buildings throughout the world, including London’s Tower Bridge and St Pancras Station.
