This year’s Surface Design Show once again takes place at the Business Design Centre in London from 5th – 7th February 2013. Burlington Stone will be showcasing their Broughton Moor, Elterwater and Bursting Stone green stones, as part of the “Barcode” concept, together with the SCIN Gallery on Stand No. 144.
The show focuses upon cutting edge and innovative materials and provides a venue for architects and interior designers working on commercial projects to come and source from hundreds of new and inspiring products.
In addition to demonstrating the versatility and diverse range of stones and finishes, Burlington Stone will also have available the 3 Kirkstone stones, namely Kirkstone Brathay Blue / Black, Kirkstone Silver Green and Kirkstone Sea Green, which have been added to the product offering.
Burlington Stone continues to offer standard product lines and truly bespoke pieces, all of which are limited only by the imagination.
On Thursday 7th February, the first Surface Design Awards ceremony will take place at the Surface Design Show. Burlington Stone is proud to be sponsoring the Commercial Category for Interiors and Exteriors. Nick Williams, Burlington’s Commercial Director, will be presenting the winners with their award. Details of the winners will follow after the Awards Ceremony.
The Surface Design Awards recognise examples of progressive design and the use of innovative surfaces in projects both in the UK and internationally.
The Awards mirror the goals of the show by shining a spotlight upon the wealth of creativity and innovation in the industry.
It was with mixed emotions that Burlington Stone thanked Terry Armistead, Production Manager, for his dedication to the business over the past 48 years and to wish him well in his retirement at a special party on Friday 5th May 2017. Having joined Burlington Stone at the age of 15, Terry has played a key role within the production facility at Kirkby-in-Furness. The vast knowledge and experience he has gained over the past 48 years, along with his “can-do” attitude means he will be greatly missed by colleagues and customers alike. Luckily, Terry has kindly agreed to continue to work for Burlington for a couple of days per week.
It is with delight that Burlington Stone’s Westmorland Green flamed paving has won the Landscaping Category at this year’s Natural Stone Awards 2016. Working together with Hardscape, based in Bolton, Burlington Stone supplied their Green natural stone for an integral part of the refurbishment of the Deansgate – Castlefield Metro Station project in Manchester.
Her Majesty The Queen has officially opened a new £15m National Heritage Centre for Horseracing and Sporting Art in Newmarket, where many of her own horses are trained and stabled.
Ten years of planning has gone into the new centre, which includes Burlington Stone’s Westmorland Green flamed paving in the internal and external walkways.
